Hello and welcome to the blog.
I’m Annie, and writing a blog is very new to me, but I’m excited to give it a try and share my experiences and insights with you. Thank you for your patience and support!
OUR JOURNEY
Christian, myself (Annie) and our 2 children moved to At Kitty House in 2022. We took over the running of the cottages from Christian’s Mum and Dad who had built and converted the cottages and then run them with great success for over 20 years. Moving here, we saw a wonderful opportunity to continue their legacy while also adding our own personal touch.

As someone who loves exploring, eating and drinking, I’ll be sharing our favorite local spots on here. Whether it’s a hidden hiking trail (we need to do more of this), a charming café, or a breathtaking viewpoint, I’ll try to keep adding interesting information on here. The North Lakes has so much to offer.
We’ll do our best to keep you updated with all the latest happenings at Kitty House. Whether it’s new improvements, special events, or local tips, we want to keep you informed and connected to everything going on here. Thank you for joining us on this journey!
WHAT’S THERE TO LOVE?
Our holiday cottages have been newly redecorated to offer a bright and inviting atmosphere which reflect our passion for hospitality and comfort. We have two cottages exclusively for adults, perfect for a peaceful retreat.
At the beginning of the year we started decorating the bedroom in the Byre and it soon got out of hand! We ended up doing them both from top to bottom. Not quite the plan but we are so proud of how they have turned out. Decorating has been really fun but challenging, and creating the interior design for each room was definitely the best part. It involved lots of Pinterest boards, endless inspiration, and countless hours of planning but im so proud they have turned out how I saw each one in my head! I hope you like them too.
The Fold has a downstairs King bedroom and bathroom while the Byre has a king bedroom with en-suite and a double bedroom and bathroom. We considered changing the second bedroom into a dressing room but so glad we didn’t. Some couples like to sleep separately and it’s ideal for friends traveling together.
We have done quite a lot of travelling and the number one thing that would make us return is a pristinely clean room with an amazingly comfortable bed. We try to meet both of these expectations with the cottages. A clean, fresh cottage is a given, I am a little OCD when it comes to cleanliness so you can rest easy that the cottages are cleaned to high standards. We have also spent considerable time sourcing the most comfortable beds and luxurious linen bedding to ensure a restful and rejuvenating stay. I might do a whole blog post about the beds…I think they deserve it! We have had such fab feedback so far in regards to quality of sleep…wooohooo!
